It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of productive and non productive cough, cold and allergic rhinitis.
Effect on Tridosha – balances Vata and Kapha.
Lavangadi Vati ingredients:
Lavanga – Clove – Syzigium aromaticum – 10 g
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 10 g
Aksha – Belliric Myrobalan fruit rind – Terminalia bellirica – 10 g
Sara of Khadira – Black Catechu (heart wood extract) – Acacia catechu – 30 g
Water decoction of Babbula – Acacia Arabica – Quantity Sufficient.
Fine powder of above ingredients is triturated with the decoction, a semisolid paste is made, pills are prepared.
